The Constellations

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡبُرُوجِ1

Ayah 1

Translation of the meaningBy the sky full of constellations

وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡمَوۡعُودِ2

Ayah 2

Translation of the meaningand the promised Day ˹of Judgment˺

وَشَاهِدࣲ وَمَشۡهُودࣲ‏3

Ayah 3

Translation of the meaningand the witness and what is witnessed

قُتِلَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأُخۡدُودِ4

Ayah 4

Translation of the meaningCondemned are the makers of the ditch—

ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡوَقُودِ5

Ayah 5

Translation of the meaningthe fire ˹pit˺, filled with fuel—

إِذۡ هُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا قُعُودࣱ‏6

Ayah 6

Translation of the meaningwhen they sat around it

وَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفۡعَلُونَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ شُهُودࣱ‏7

Ayah 7

Translation of the meaningwatching what they had ˹ordered to be˺ done to the believers

وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَمِيدِ8

Ayah 8

Translation of the meaningwho they resented for no reason other than belief in Allah—the Almighty, the Praiseworthy—

ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءࣲ شَهِيدٌ9

Ayah 9

Translation of the meaning˹the One˺ to Whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is a Witness over all things

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُواْ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ10

Ayah 10

Translation of the meaningThose who persecute the believing men and women and then do not repent will certainly suffer the punishment of Hell and the torment of burning

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ جَنَّٰتࣱ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ11

Ayah 11

Translation of the meaningSurely those who believe and do good will have Gardens under which rivers flow. That is the greatest triumph

إِنَّ بَطۡشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ12

Ayah 12

Translation of the meaningIndeed, the ˹crushing˺ grip of your Lord is severe

إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبۡدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ13

Ayah 13

Translation of the meaning˹For˺ He is certainly the One Who originates and resurrects ˹all˺

وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلۡوَدُودُ14

Ayah 14

Translation of the meaningAnd He is the All-Forgiving, All-Loving—

ذُو ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱلۡمَجِيدُ15

Ayah 15

Translation of the meaningLord of the Throne, the All-Glorious

فَعَّالࣱ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ16

Ayah 16

Translation of the meaningDoer of whatever He wills

هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡجُنُودِ17

Ayah 17

Translation of the meaningHas the story of the ˹destroyed˺ forces reached you ˹O Prophet˺—

فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَثَمُودَ18

Ayah 18

Translation of the meaning˹the forces of˺ Pharaoh and Thamûd

بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِي تَكۡذِيبࣲ‏19

Ayah 19

Translation of the meaningYet the disbelievers ˹still˺ persist in denial

وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطُۢ20

Ayah 20

Translation of the meaningBut Allah encompasses them from all sides

بَلۡ هُوَ قُرۡءَانࣱ مَّجِيدࣱ‏21

Ayah 21

Translation of the meaningIn fact, this is a glorious Quran

فِي لَوۡحࣲ مَّحۡفُوظِۭ22

Ayah 22

Translation of the meaning˹recorded˺ in a Preserved Tablet
