Competition

أَلۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ1

Ayah 1

Translation of the meaningCompetition for more ˹gains˺ diverts you ˹from Allah˺

حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ2

Ayah 2

Translation of the meaninguntil you end up in ˹your˺ graves

كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ3

Ayah 3

Translation of the meaningBut no! You will soon come to know

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ4

Ayah 4

Translation of the meaningAgain, no! You will soon come to know

كَلَّا لَوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عِلۡمَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ5

Ayah 5

Translation of the meaningIndeed, if you were to know ˹your fate˺ with certainty, ˹you would have acted differently˺

لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ6

Ayah 6

Translation of the meaning˹But˺ you will surely see the Hellfire

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيۡنَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ7

Ayah 7

Translation of the meaningAgain, you will surely see it with the eye of certainty

ثُمَّ لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ يَوۡمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ8

Ayah 8

Translation of the meaningThen, on that Day, you will definitely be questioned about ˹your worldly˺ pleasures
