The Most High

سَبِّحِ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡأَعۡلَى1

Ayah 1

Translation of the meaningGlorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High

ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ2

Ayah 2

Translation of the meaningWho created and ˹perfectly˺ fashioned ˹all˺

وَٱلَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ3

Ayah 3

Translation of the meaningand Who ordained precisely and inspired accordingly

وَٱلَّذِيٓ أَخۡرَجَ ٱلۡمَرۡعَىٰ4

Ayah 4

Translation of the meaningand Who brings forth ˹green˺ pasture

فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحۡوَىٰ5

Ayah 5

Translation of the meaningthen reduces it to withered chaff

سَنُقۡرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ6

Ayah 6

Translation of the meaningWe will have you recite ˹the Quran, O Prophet,˺ so you will not forget ˹any of it˺

إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ وَمَا يَخۡفَىٰ7

Ayah 7

Translation of the meaningunless Allah wills otherwise. He surely knows what is open and what is hidden

وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰ8

Ayah 8

Translation of the meaningWe will facilitate for you the Way of Ease

فَذَكِّرۡ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ9

Ayah 9

Translation of the meaningSo ˹always˺ remind ˹with the Quran˺—˹even˺ if the reminder is beneficial ˹only to some˺

سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخۡشَىٰ10

Ayah 10

Translation of the meaningThose in awe ˹of Allah˺ will be mindful ˹of it˺

وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلۡأَشۡقَى11

Ayah 11

Translation of the meaningBut it will be shunned by the most wretched

ٱلَّذِي يَصۡلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ12

Ayah 12

Translation of the meaningwho will burn in the greatest Fire

ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ13

Ayah 13

Translation of the meaningwhere they will not ˹be able to˺ live or die

قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ14

Ayah 14

Translation of the meaningSuccessful indeed are those who purify themselves

وَذَكَرَ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ15

Ayah 15

Translation of the meaningremember the Name of their Lord, and pray

بَلۡ تُؤۡثِرُونَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا16

Ayah 16

Translation of the meaningBut you ˹deniers only˺ prefer the life of this world

وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ خَيۡرࣱ وَأَبۡقَىٰٓ17

Ayah 17

Translation of the meaningeven though the Hereafter is far better and more lasting

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ18

Ayah 18

Translation of the meaningThis is certainly ˹mentioned˺ in the earlier Scriptures—

صُحُفِ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ19

Ayah 19

Translation of the meaningthe Scriptures of Abraham and Moses
