Ayah 1
Translation of the meaningYâ-Sĩn
سُوْرَةُ يٰسٓ
Surah 36verses 83 Revealed in MeccanJuz 22–23
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
يسٓ
Ayah 1
Translation of the meaningYâ-Sĩn
وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ
Ayah 2
Translation of the meaningBy the Quran, rich in wisdom
إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Ayah 3
Translation of the meaningYou ˹O Prophet˺ are truly one of the messengers
عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطࣲ مُّسۡتَقِيمࣲ
Ayah 4
Translation of the meaningupon the Straight Path
تَنزِيلَ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Ayah 5
Translation of the meaning˹This is˺ a revelation from the Almighty, Most Merciful
لِتُنذِرَ قَوۡمࣰ ا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمۡ فَهُمۡ غَٰفِلُونَ
Ayah 6
Translation of the meaningso that you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, and so are heedless
لَقَدۡ حَقَّ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ عَلَىٰٓ أَكۡثَرِهِمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
Ayah 7
Translation of the meaningThe decree ˹of torment˺ has already been justified against most of them, for they will never believe
إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا فِيٓ أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ أَغۡلَٰلࣰ ا فَهِيَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ فَهُم مُّقۡمَحُونَ
Ayah 8
Translation of the meaning˹It is as if˺ We have put shackles around their necks up to their chins, so their heads are forced up
وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنۢ بَيۡنِ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ سَدࣰّ ا وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ سَدࣰّ ا فَأَغۡشَيۡنَٰهُمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يُبۡصِرُونَ
Ayah 9
Translation of the meaningand have placed a barrier before them and a barrier behind them and covered them ˹all˺ up, so they fail to see ˹the truth˺
وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَأَنذَرۡتَهُمۡ أَمۡ لَمۡ تُنذِرۡهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
Ayah 10
Translation of the meaningIt is the same whether you warn them or not—they will never believe
إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَخَشِيَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنَ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِۖ فَبَشِّرۡهُ بِمَغۡفِرَةࣲ وَأَجۡرࣲ كَرِيمٍ
Ayah 11
Translation of the meaningYou can only warn those who follow the Reminder and are in awe of the Most Compassionate without seeing Him. So give them good news of forgiveness and an honourable reward
إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نُحۡيِ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ وَنَكۡتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُواْ وَءَاثَٰرَهُمۡۚ وَكُلَّ شَيۡءٍ أَحۡصَيۡنَٰهُ فِيٓ إِمَامࣲ مُّبِينࣲ
Ayah 12
Translation of the meaningIt is certainly We Who resurrect the dead, and write what they send forth and what they leave behind. Everything is listed by Us in a perfect Record
وَٱضۡرِبۡ لَهُم مَّثَلًا أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ إِذۡ جَآءَهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
Ayah 13
Translation of the meaningGive them an example ˹O Prophet˺ of the residents of a town, when the messengers came to them
إِذۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡهِمُ ٱثۡنَيۡنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزۡنَا بِثَالِثࣲ فَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ إِلَيۡكُم مُّرۡسَلُونَ
Ayah 14
Translation of the meaningWe sent them two messengers, but they rejected both. So We reinforced ˹the two˺ with a third, and they declared, “We have indeed been sent to you ˹as messengers˺.”
قَالُواْ مَآ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا بَشَرࣱ مِّثۡلُنَا وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ مِن شَيۡءٍ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا تَكۡذِبُونَ
Ayah 15
Translation of the meaningThe people replied, “You are only humans like us, and the Most Compassionate has not revealed anything. You are simply lying!”
قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا يَعۡلَمُ إِنَّآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ لَمُرۡسَلُونَ
Ayah 16
Translation of the meaningThe messengers responded, “Our Lord knows that we have truly been sent to you
وَمَا عَلَيۡنَآ إِلَّا ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ
Ayah 17
Translation of the meaningAnd our duty is only to deliver ˹the message˺ clearly.”
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا تَطَيَّرۡنَا بِكُمۡۖ لَئِن لَّمۡ تَنتَهُواْ لَنَرۡجُمَنَّكُمۡ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمࣱ
Ayah 18
Translation of the meaningThe people replied, “We definitely see you as a bad omen for us. If you do not desist, we will certainly stone you ˹to death˺ and you will be touched with a painful punishment from us.”
قَالُواْ طَٰٓئِرُكُم مَّعَكُمۡ أَئِن ذُكِّرۡتُمۚ بَلۡ أَنتُمۡ قَوۡمࣱ مُّسۡرِفُونَ
Ayah 19
Translation of the meaningThe messengers said, “Your bad omen lies within yourselves. Are you saying this because you are reminded ˹of the truth˺? In fact, you are a transgressing people.”
وَجَآءَ مِنۡ أَقۡصَا ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ رَجُلࣱ يَسۡعَىٰ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱتَّبِعُواْ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
Ayah 20
Translation of the meaningThen from the farthest end of the city a man came, rushing. He advised, “O my people! Follow the messengers
ٱتَّبِعُواْ مَن لَّا يَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ أَجۡرࣰ ا وَهُم مُّهۡتَدُونَ
Ayah 21
Translation of the meaningFollow those who ask no reward of you, and are ˹rightly˺ guided
وَمَالِيَ لَآ أَعۡبُدُ ٱلَّذِي فَطَرَنِي وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ
Ayah 22
Translation of the meaningAnd why should I not worship the One Who has originated me, and to Whom you will be returned
ءَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً إِن يُرِدۡنِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ بِضُرࣲّ لَّا تُغۡنِ عَنِّي شَفَٰعَتُهُمۡ شَيۡـࣰٔ ا وَلَا يُنقِذُونِ
Ayah 23
Translation of the meaningHow could I take besides Him other gods whose intercession would not be of any benefit to me, nor could they save me if the Most Compassionate intended to harm me
إِنِّيٓ إِذࣰ ا لَّفِي ضَلَٰلࣲ مُّبِينٍ
Ayah 24
Translation of the meaningIndeed, I would then be clearly astray
إِنِّيٓ ءَامَنتُ بِرَبِّكُمۡ فَٱسۡمَعُونِ
Ayah 25
Translation of the meaningI do believe in your Lord, so listen to me.”
قِيلَ ٱدۡخُلِ ٱلۡجَنَّةَۖ قَالَ يَٰلَيۡتَ قَوۡمِي يَعۡلَمُونَ
Ayah 26
Translation of the meaning˹But they killed him, then˺ he was told ˹by the angels˺, “Enter Paradise!” He said, “If only my people knew
بِمَا غَفَرَ لِي رَبِّي وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ ٱلۡمُكۡرَمِينَ
Ayah 27
Translation of the meaningof how my Lord has forgiven me, and made me one of the honourable.”
۞وَمَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ مِن جُندࣲ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ
Ayah 28
Translation of the meaningWe did not send any soldiers from the heavens against his people after his death, nor did We need to
إِن كَانَتۡ إِلَّا صَيۡحَةࣰ وَٰحِدَةࣰ فَإِذَا هُمۡ خَٰمِدُونَ
Ayah 29
Translation of the meaningAll it took was one ˹mighty˺ blast, and they were extinguished at once
يَٰحَسۡرَةً عَلَى ٱلۡعِبَادِۚ مَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
Ayah 30
Translation of the meaningOh pity, such beings! No messenger ever came to them without being mocked
أَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ كَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا قَبۡلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمۡ إِلَيۡهِمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ
Ayah 31
Translation of the meaningHave the deniers not considered how many peoples We destroyed before them who never came back to life again
وَإِن كُلࣱّ لَّمَّا جَمِيعࣱ لَّدَيۡنَا مُحۡضَرُونَ
Ayah 32
Translation of the meaningYet they will all be brought before Us
وَءَايَةࣱ لَّهُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ ٱلۡمَيۡتَةُ أَحۡيَيۡنَٰهَا وَأَخۡرَجۡنَا مِنۡهَا حَبࣰّ ا فَمِنۡهُ يَأۡكُلُونَ
Ayah 33
Translation of the meaningThere is a sign for them in the dead earth: We give it life, producing grain from it for them to eat
وَجَعَلۡنَا فِيهَا جَنَّٰتࣲ مِّن نَّخِيلࣲ وَأَعۡنَٰبࣲ وَفَجَّرۡنَا فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلۡعُيُونِ
Ayah 34
Translation of the meaningAnd We have placed in it gardens of palm trees and grapevines, and caused springs to gush forth in it
لِيَأۡكُلُواْ مِن ثَمَرِهِۦ وَمَا عَمِلَتۡهُ أَيۡدِيهِمۡۚ أَفَلَا يَشۡكُرُونَ
Ayah 35
Translation of the meaningso that they may eat from its fruit, which they had no hand in making. Will they not then give thanks
سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلۡأَزۡوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَمِنۡ أَنفُسِهِمۡ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ
Ayah 36
Translation of the meaningGlory be to the One Who created all ˹things in˺ pairs—˹be it˺ what the earth produces, their genders, or what they do not know
وَءَايَةࣱ لَّهُمُ ٱلَّيۡلُ نَسۡلَخُ مِنۡهُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظۡلِمُونَ
Ayah 37
Translation of the meaningThere is also a sign for them in the night: We strip from it daylight, then—behold!—they are in darkness
وَٱلشَّمۡسُ تَجۡرِي لِمُسۡتَقَرࣲّ لَّهَاۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقۡدِيرُ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡعَلِيمِ
Ayah 38
Translation of the meaningThe sun travels for its fixed term. That is the design of the Almighty, All-Knowing
وَٱلۡقَمَرَ قَدَّرۡنَٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَٱلۡعُرۡجُونِ ٱلۡقَدِيمِ
Ayah 39
Translation of the meaningAs for the moon, We have ordained ˹precise˺ phases for it, until it ends up like an old, curved palm stalk
لَا ٱلشَّمۡسُ يَنۢبَغِي لَهَآ أَن تُدۡرِكَ ٱلۡقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيۡلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِۚ وَكُلࣱّ فِي فَلَكࣲ يَسۡبَحُونَ
Ayah 40
Translation of the meaningIt is not for the sun to catch up with the moon, nor does the night outrun the day. Each is travelling in an orbit of their own
وَءَايَةࣱ لَّهُمۡ أَنَّا حَمَلۡنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلۡمَشۡحُونِ
Ayah 41
Translation of the meaningAnother sign for them is that We carried their ancestors ˹with Noah˺ in the fully loaded Ark
وَخَلَقۡنَا لَهُم مِّن مِّثۡلِهِۦ مَا يَرۡكَبُونَ
Ayah 42
Translation of the meaningand created for them similar things to ride in
وَإِن نَّشَأۡ نُغۡرِقۡهُمۡ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنقَذُونَ
Ayah 43
Translation of the meaningIf We willed, We could drown them: then no one would respond to their cries, nor would they be rescued—
إِلَّا رَحۡمَةࣰ مِّنَّا وَمَتَٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينࣲ
Ayah 44
Translation of the meaningexcept by mercy from Us, allowing them enjoyment for a ˹little˺ while
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّقُواْ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيكُمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُرۡحَمُونَ
Ayah 45
Translation of the meaning˹Still they turn away˺ when it is said to them, “Beware of what is ahead of you ˹in the Hereafter˺ and what is behind you ˹of destroyed nations˺ so you may be shown mercy.”
وَمَا تَأۡتِيهِم مِّنۡ ءَايَةࣲ مِّنۡ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ إِلَّا كَانُواْ عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضِينَ
Ayah 46
Translation of the meaningWhenever a sign comes to them from their Lord, they turn away from it
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ أَنفِقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَنُطۡعِمُ مَن لَّوۡ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّهُ أَطۡعَمَهُۥٓ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَٰلࣲ مُّبِينࣲ
Ayah 47
Translation of the meaningAnd when it is said to them, “Donate from what Allah has provided for you,” the disbelievers say to the believers, “Why should we feed those whom Allah could have fed if He wanted to? You are clearly astray!”
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
Ayah 48
Translation of the meaningAnd they ask ˹the believers˺, “When will this threat come to pass, if what you say is true?”
مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيۡحَةࣰ وَٰحِدَةࣰ تَأۡخُذُهُمۡ وَهُمۡ يَخِصِّمُونَ
Ayah 49
Translation of the meaningThey must be awaiting a single Blast, which will seize them while they are ˹entrenched˺ in ˹worldly˺ disputes
فَلَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ تَوۡصِيَةࣰ وَلَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ
Ayah 50
Translation of the meaningThen they will not be able to make a ˹last˺ will, nor can they return to their own people
وَنُفِخَ فِي ٱلصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ يَنسِلُونَ
Ayah 51
Translation of the meaningThe Trumpet will be blown ˹a second time˺, then—behold!—they will rush from the graves to their Lord
قَالُواْ يَٰوَيۡلَنَا مَنۢ بَعَثَنَا مِن مَّرۡقَدِنَاۜۗ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وَصَدَقَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
Ayah 52
Translation of the meaningThey will cry, “Woe to us! Who has raised us up from our place of rest? This must be what the Most Compassionate warned us of; the messengers told the truth!”
إِن كَانَتۡ إِلَّا صَيۡحَةࣰ وَٰحِدَةࣰ فَإِذَا هُمۡ جَمِيعࣱ لَّدَيۡنَا مُحۡضَرُونَ
Ayah 53
Translation of the meaningIt will only take one Blast, then at once they will all be brought before Us
فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ لَا تُظۡلَمُ نَفۡسࣱ شَيۡـࣰٔ ا وَلَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ
Ayah 54
Translation of the meaningOn that Day no soul will be wronged in the least, nor will you be rewarded except for what you used to do
إِنَّ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ فِي شُغُلࣲ فَٰكِهُونَ
Ayah 55
Translation of the meaningIndeed, on that Day the residents of Paradise will be busy enjoying themselves
هُمۡ وَأَزۡوَٰجُهُمۡ فِي ظِلَٰلٍ عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ مُتَّكِـُٔونَ
Ayah 56
Translation of the meaningThey and their spouses will be in ˹cool˺ shade, reclining on ˹canopied˺ couches
لَهُمۡ فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةࣱ وَلَهُم مَّا يَدَّعُونَ
Ayah 57
Translation of the meaningThere they will have fruits and whatever they desire
سَلَٰمࣱ قَوۡلࣰ ا مِّن رَّبࣲّ رَّحِيمࣲ
Ayah 58
Translation of the meaningAnd “Peace!” will be ˹their˺ greeting from the Merciful Lord
وَٱمۡتَٰزُواْ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ
Ayah 59
Translation of the meaning˹Then the disbelievers will be told,˺ “Step away ˹from the believers˺ this Day, O wicked ones
۞أَلَمۡ أَعۡهَدۡ إِلَيۡكُمۡ يَٰبَنِيٓ ءَادَمَ أَن لَّا تَعۡبُدُواْ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمۡ عَدُوࣱّ مُّبِينࣱ
Ayah 60
Translation of the meaningDid I not command you, O Children of Adam, not to follow Satan, for he is truly your sworn enemy
وَأَنِ ٱعۡبُدُونِيۚ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطࣱ مُّسۡتَقِيمࣱ
Ayah 61
Translation of the meaningbut to worship Me ˹alone˺? This is the Straight Path
وَلَقَدۡ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمۡ جِبِلࣰّ ا كَثِيرًاۖ أَفَلَمۡ تَكُونُواْ تَعۡقِلُونَ
Ayah 62
Translation of the meaningYet he already misled great multitudes of you. Did you not have any sense
هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ
Ayah 63
Translation of the meaningThis is the Hell you were warned of
ٱصۡلَوۡهَا ٱلۡيَوۡمَ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡفُرُونَ
Ayah 64
Translation of the meaningBurn in it Today for your disbelief.”
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ نَخۡتِمُ عَلَىٰٓ أَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ وَتُكَلِّمُنَآ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَتَشۡهَدُ أَرۡجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ
Ayah 65
Translation of the meaningOn this Day We will seal their mouths, their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify to what they used to commit
وَلَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَطَمَسۡنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَعۡيُنِهِمۡ فَٱسۡتَبَقُواْ ٱلصِّرَٰطَ فَأَنَّىٰ يُبۡصِرُونَ
Ayah 66
Translation of the meaningHad We willed, We could have easily blinded their eyes, so they would struggle to find their way. How then could they see
وَلَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمۡ فَمَا ٱسۡتَطَٰعُواْ مُضِيࣰّ ا وَلَا يَرۡجِعُونَ
Ayah 67
Translation of the meaningAnd had We willed, We could have transfigured them on the spot, so they could neither progress forward nor turn back
وَمَن نُّعَمِّرۡهُ نُنَكِّسۡهُ فِي ٱلۡخَلۡقِۚ أَفَلَا يَعۡقِلُونَ
Ayah 68
Translation of the meaningAnd whoever We grant a long life, We reverse them in development. Will they not then understand
وَمَا عَلَّمۡنَٰهُ ٱلشِّعۡرَ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِي لَهُۥٓۚ إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرࣱ وَقُرۡءَانࣱ مُّبِينࣱ
Ayah 69
Translation of the meaningWe have not taught him poetry, nor is it fitting for him. This ˹Book˺ is only a Reminder and a clear Quran
لِّيُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَيࣰّ ا وَيَحِقَّ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
Ayah 70
Translation of the meaningto warn whoever is ˹truly˺ alive and fulfil the decree ˹of torment˺ against the disbelievers
أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ أَنَّا خَلَقۡنَا لَهُم مِّمَّا عَمِلَتۡ أَيۡدِينَآ أَنۡعَٰمࣰ ا فَهُمۡ لَهَا مَٰلِكُونَ
Ayah 71
Translation of the meaningDo they not see that We singlehandedly created for them, among other things, cattle which are under their control
وَذَلَّلۡنَٰهَا لَهُمۡ فَمِنۡهَا رَكُوبُهُمۡ وَمِنۡهَا يَأۡكُلُونَ
Ayah 72
Translation of the meaningAnd We have subjected these ˹animals˺ to them, so they may ride some and eat others
وَلَهُمۡ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ وَمَشَارِبُۚ أَفَلَا يَشۡكُرُونَ
Ayah 73
Translation of the meaningAnd they derive from them other benefits and drinks. Will they not then give thanks
وَٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةࣰ لَّعَلَّهُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ
Ayah 74
Translation of the meaningStill they have taken other gods besides Allah, hoping to be helped ˹by them˺
لَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ نَصۡرَهُمۡ وَهُمۡ لَهُمۡ جُندࣱ مُّحۡضَرُونَ
Ayah 75
Translation of the meaningThey cannot help the pagans, even though they serve the idols as dedicated guards
فَلَا يَحۡزُنكَ قَوۡلُهُمۡۘ إِنَّا نَعۡلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعۡلِنُونَ
Ayah 76
Translation of the meaningSo do not let their words grieve you ˹O Prophet˺. Indeed, We ˹fully˺ know what they conceal and what they reveal
أَوَلَمۡ يَرَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقۡنَٰهُ مِن نُّطۡفَةࣲ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمࣱ مُّبِينࣱ
Ayah 77
Translation of the meaningDo people not see that We have created them from a sperm-drop, then—behold!—they openly challenge ˹Us˺
وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلࣰ ا وَنَسِيَ خَلۡقَهُۥۖ قَالَ مَن يُحۡيِ ٱلۡعِظَٰمَ وَهِيَ رَمِيمࣱ
Ayah 78
Translation of the meaningAnd they argue with Us—forgetting they were created—saying, “Who will give life to decayed bones?”
قُلۡ يُحۡيِيهَا ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنشَأَهَآ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةࣲۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلۡقٍ عَلِيمٌ
Ayah 79
Translation of the meaningSay, ˹O Prophet,˺ “They will be revived by the One Who produced them the first time, for He has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of every created being
ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّجَرِ ٱلۡأَخۡضَرِ نَارࣰ ا فَإِذَآ أَنتُم مِّنۡهُ تُوقِدُونَ
Ayah 80
Translation of the meaning˹He is the One˺ Who gives you fire from green trees, and—behold!—you kindle ˹fire˺ from them
أَوَلَيۡسَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَخۡلُقَ مِثۡلَهُمۚ بَلَىٰ وَهُوَ ٱلۡخَلَّٰقُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
Ayah 81
Translation of the meaningCan the One Who created the heavens and the earth not ˹easily˺ resurrect these ˹deniers˺?” Yes ˹He can˺! For He is the Master Creator, All-Knowing
إِنَّمَآ أَمۡرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَيۡـًٔا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
Ayah 82
Translation of the meaningAll it takes, when He wills something ˹to be˺, is simply to say to it: “Be!” And it is
فَسُبۡحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِي بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيۡءࣲ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ
Ayah 83
Translation of the meaningSo glory be to the One in Whose Hands is the authority over all things, and to Whom ˹alone˺ you will ˹all˺ be returned
