Recitation audio. If a recitation file is not installed on this server, your browser requests it from a third-party host, which necessarily reveals your IP address and the verse requested to that host. Hosts currently used: islamic-network, everyayah. Audio only loads after you press play.
Language suggestion. Your browser's own language setting is checked first and involves no network request. Only if that gives no usable answer does the site ask https://ipapi.co/json/ for the country your IP maps to, in order to suggest a language. This happens at most once, the result is stored on your device, and you are never redirected without pressing the link. Dismissing the suggestion stops it permanently.
