Almsgiving

أَرَءَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِي يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ1

Ayah 1

Translation of the meaningHave you seen the one who denies the ˹final˺ Judgment

فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِي يَدُعُّ ٱلۡيَتِيمَ2

Ayah 2

Translation of the meaningThat is the one who repulses the orphan

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ3

Ayah 3

Translation of the meaningand does not encourage the feeding of the poor

فَوَيۡلࣱ لِّلۡمُصَلِّينَ4

Ayah 4

Translation of the meaningSo woe to those ˹hypocrites˺ who pray

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ عَن صَلَاتِهِمۡ سَاهُونَ5

Ayah 5

Translation of the meaningyet are unmindful of their prayers

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ يُرَآءُونَ6

Ayah 6

Translation of the meaningthose who ˹only˺ show off

وَيَمۡنَعُونَ ٱلۡمَاعُونَ7

Ayah 7

Translation of the meaningand refuse to give ˹even the simplest˺ aid
